Privacy Policy
1. Who is responsible for your data
LUMUKI is operated by Mario Roberto Garay Fernandez, an individual, who acts as the controller of your data.

2. What information we collect
Information you provide
Account information: name, email address, profile photo (optional), phone number (optional), preferred unit system. If you sign in with Apple or Google, we receive your name and email from them. If you choose to hide your email with Apple, we only receive a private relay address that Apple generates; we never learn your real email.
Dog information: name, breed, date or life stage, sex, neuter status, weight and weight history, body condition, activity level, any health conditions you choose to record, photo, and care instructions.
Walk information: notes and photos you add, and event markers (urination, defecation, hydration).
Information collected automatically
Precise location, including in the background. This is the core function of the app: recording the route of each walk. Location is only recorded while a walk is active. When no walk is in progress, the app does not track your location.
Technical data: app version, device model and operating system version, for error diagnosis.
What we do not collect
- We do not use advertising analytics or cross-app tracking tools
- We do not collect advertising identifiers
- We do not sell your data or share it with advertisers
- We do not display advertising
3. How we use your information

Sharing on social media: if you use the share feature, the card with your dog's achievement is generated on your device and you choose where to post it. The card does not include the route map. We don't send anything to any social network on your behalf.
We do not use your information for advertising, and we do not make automated decisions that produce legal effects concerning you.
4. Caregivers: when you share access
LUMUKI lets you invite other people (family members, caregivers, walkers) to walk your dog and record those walks.
Everyone who uses LUMUKI, including invited caregivers, must be 18 or older. By inviting someone, you confirm they are an adult.
What the person you invite can see: the data of the dog or dogs you assign to them, your care instructions, and that dog's walks.
What they cannot see: your exact home location. We automatically hide an approximate 300-meter radius around the starting point of each walk, both in real time and in history.
Control you retain: you can revoke access at any time. When you do, that person immediately loses access to your dog's data.
If you are the one who was invited: by accepting, your location is recorded during the walks you perform, and the dog's owner can see those routes. We ask for your explicit consent before this happens, and you can leave at any time.
5. Who we share information with
We do not sell your information. We share it only with providers that help us operate the service:
Google (Firebase) — stores your account, data and photos. Servers are located in the United States (us-east1 region).
RevenueCat — manages your subscription status.
Resend — sends service emails (email verification, password reset, account deletion notice). It receives only your email address and the message content.
Apple — processes subscription payments. We never see or store your card details.
Apple and Google (sign-in) — if you choose to sign in with them, they authenticate your identity.
These providers act as processors: they process your data only to provide their service to us, under data protection agreements.
We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect rights, safety or property.
6. Where your data is stored
On Google Cloud servers in the United States (us-east1 region). The controller operates from the Dominican Republic. If you are located outside the United States, your data is transferred to and processed there.
7. How long we keep your information
While your account is active, we keep your walk history: it is the core value of the service and the reason we store it.
You control your information. You can delete individual walks, delete a dog's entire history, or delete your whole account.
When you delete your account: there is a 7-day period during which you can cancel the deletion. After that, we permanently delete your profile, your dogs, your walks and your photos.
Exception — walks performed for other people: if you walked someone else's dog, those records belong to the dog's owner and are not deleted. Instead, we anonymize them: your identifier is removed and your name is replaced with "Deleted user."
Unsynced walks that remain on your device are automatically deleted after 30 days.
8. How we protect your information
- Encrypted connections between the app and our servers
- Server-side access controls based on your identity and the permissions you have granted
- Single-use invitation codes with limited validity
- Automatic hiding of your home area
- Caregiver access revocable at any time
No system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee that information will never be compromised. We apply reasonable measures appropriate to the type of information we handle, and if we detected an incident affecting you, we would notify you.
9. Your rights
At any time, you can:
- Access your information from within the app
- Correct your data and your dogs' data
- Delete walks, dogs, or your entire account
- Revoke any caregiver's access
- Withdraw location permission from your device settings (the app will still work, but cannot record walks)
- Request a copy of your data by writing to us
For additional requests, write to privacy@lumuki.app. We respond within one month.
California residents
If you reside in California, you have the right to know what personal information we collect, request its deletion, correct it, and not be discriminated against for exercising these rights. We do not sell or share your personal information as those terms are defined under California law.
Dominican Republic
We process your data in accordance with Law 172-13 on the Protection of Personal Data.
10. Geographic availability
LUMUKI is not currently offered to residents of the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, and the app is not available in the app stores of those territories.
If we decide to offer the service there in the future, we will first appoint a representative under Article 27 of the General Data Protection Regulation — and its UK equivalent — and update this policy with their contact details and the additional information that regulation requires, before the service becomes available.
11. Minors
LUMUKI is intended for people aged 18 and over, both owners and invited caregivers. We do not knowingly collect information from minors. If you believe a minor has provided us with information, contact us and we will delete it.
12. Changes to this policy
If we make significant changes, we will notify you within the app or by email before they take effect. The last updated date appears at the top of this document.
